Meeting Minutes

Nov. 3, 2021

I.  Call to order: 3:20pm

Members Present: Cindy Sanford, Will Baldwin, Mandy Power, Jessie Tomes

Members absent: Matthew Wall, Heather Glass

II.  Approval of Sept. meeting minutes- 

    Motion by: Mandy Power

    Second by: Cindy Sanford

III.  Old Business- None

FY22 SIP: FY22 KES School Improvement Plan

• Update on our Writing Initiative K-5

- Organizing writing skills using all elements of writing.

- Preparing a good writing foundation for use in upper grades.

IV.  New Business

• Charter Mini-Grant Updates:

             -      Music Grant Awarded

• In process of ordering the instruments (some shipping delays)

  -  Trash Can beautification- using Sawnee EMC grant to fund project

• Continuation to Finish Outdoor Garden Awarded

  • Continuation will include more small spaces for students, games, and butterfly observation area.  6,000$ funding through county funding.

• Thanksgiving Feast

  • We have around 200 visitors expected for Thanksgiving (most ever)

• 7,000$ of Title 1 funds to use.  Likely applications- Mentor texts, Gratitude Journals, Multiplication pop-its, Rok N Rak abacus tools, Hagerty Bridge the Gap program.
