Meeting Minutes
September 1st, 2021
I. Call to order: 3:20 pm

II. Approval of May 2021 meeting minutes- Approved

IV. New Business
- Reminder about SGC mandatory training and by-laws awareness
- Approval of future meeting dates (no meeting in Dec, Jan, Apr)
- School improvement plan. Based off of data from MAP. Using 4 square organizer as basis. Preliminary results in language arts are very positive.
- Active intervention in 5th grade reading. Performed phonological screening on every lower level achiever to assess problem areas.
- Adding Second Step program for social-emotional learning. Bullying awareness program being done in classroom by Ms. Purdy and classroom teacher.
- 24 out of area requests for Kindergarten. Led to creation of new K class. Will likely lead to need for additional class/specials as they progress over next 5 years.
- Charter mini-grants. Mr. Thomes applied for musical instruments. Ms. Fowler for mosaic trashcan funds.
