KES School Governance Minutes

Tuesday, October 28,  2025

3:15 pm

1. Mrs. Tumlin welcomed everyone and called the meeting to order.

2. Special recognition to Mr. Tony Wooten and Mrs. Shannong Thomas.  Thanks for attending the meeting.  

3. Roll Call

4. Call for the approval of the minutes from September meeting 

   • Brittany Brooks made motion to approve

   • Sheryl Edmondson gave the second

   • All members voted to approve 

5. Call for approval of October meeting agenda

   • Mandy Power  made motion to approve

   • Brittany Brooks gave the second

   • All members voted to approve

6. New business

   • Dr. Vikki Brannon shared updates from Student Health services for Dawson County Schools.  She shared county protocols, policies and procedures.  Dr. Brannon also shared information regarding the SNAP parent portal, and links for Telehealth.  

7. Upcoming events

   • A list of events coming up for KES were shared.  

8. Information for future meetings/suggested meetings

   • Counselor Information Sessions/Updates - Nicole Purdy - March 31, 2026

   • One Dawson Updates with Mrs. Nicole LeCave - February 24, 2026

   • Student Supports with Mr. Maroney, SWD Director - March 31, 2026

   • Assessment Updates with Dr. Denise Reynolds - April 28, 2026
