KES School Governance Minutes

3:15 pm

1. Mrs. Bennett welcomed everyone to the first FY26 SGC meeting.
Roll Call

  Members Absent : Matt Wall. 

Members Present: Brittany Brooks

1. Elections held for chair and vice chair.

   Mandy Power was nominated for Chairperson - all voted in favor.

   Lauren Tumlin was nominated for Vice-chairperson - all voted in favor

2. Meeting called to order by Mandy Power

3. Call for the approval of the minutes from May meeting 

   Brittany Brooks made motion to approve
   Sheryl Edmondson gave the second
   All members voted to approve 

4. Call for approval of August meeting agenda

    Lauren Tumlin made motion to approve

   Erica Tarnacki gave the second
   All members voted to approve

5. Special Recognitions/Introduction

6.  Brittany Brooks, 4th grade teacher, was welcomed as a  new SGC Member

7. Team members participated in the annual SGC Training.  A copy of the Bi-laws were given to each member.
8. New business - Mrs. Bennett shared copies of the Master schedule and the current School Improvement plan.  Data from the FY25 SIP plan was also reviewed.  Fundraiser that was approved was shared. Also discussed the mini-grants that were awarded to KES.
9. Upcoming events
   A list of events coming up for KES were shared.
