Kathy Galati

Hello My Name Is...

Kathy Galati

FN

I feel beyond blessed to be a 2nd grade teacher at KES!  I began my time at Kilough as a Para in PreK soon after my family’s move to Dawsonville, but, I am actually a retired New York State Elementary Teacher.  After I moved to Georgia, I realized that I was not ready to be out of the classroom!!  I came back into education as a Para but quickly obtained my GA Certification so I could have my own classroom.  I felt at the time that this is where God wants me! This year at Kilough begins my 26th year in education!  During those years, I taught in Kansas, New York, Alabama, and now Georgia. I have my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and my Masters’ Degree in Literacy.

I’m a Georgia girl who grew up in Columbus, Georgia. My husband, Frank, is a retired Army Officer with 24 years active service and also a retired New York State High School Science Teacher.  We have one daughter, Leslie Ann, and a son-in-law, James. They live locally in Dahlonega. We are expecting our first grandchild in December and are excited beyond the moon and back!  In addition to our “human family”, we have one cat, Bella, and a horse named Sampson.  During my free time I love to read, play my piano, play with the animals, and spend time with my family.
